Greetings Louisburg UMC,
I hope you're staying cool this week!
Over the past year and a half, much has changed in our world. The pandemic has affected all of us in so many ways. Over the last 18 months we have worked as a church family to support one another and get through this difficult season. Over the past six months we have started to return to some sense of what is normal. With that in mind, this Sunday, August 1, I am calling relaunch Sunday. The staff and I have been working hard over the past few months to get our church ready for the rest of this year. Here is what you can expect on Sunday:
-A welcome from people holding the doors and greeters
-The Toddler room is open again
-New bulletins that highlight all aspects of our church
-Worship that includes hymns at 8:30 and contemporary Christian music at 10:30
-Live streaming for both services
I was also ready to add weekly communion back beginning this week. However, with rising Covid cases again, we are going to hold off on communion a little longer. I know the numbers of cases going up creates anxiety for many of us. I will encourage you to wear your mask to worship if you need to. As of today, the cases in Miami county are lower than many other counties around us. I would encourage you to do what is best for you and your family.
Our new Sermon Series is called Kingdom- What can Chiefs Kingdom teach us about the Kingdom of God? Over the next five weeks, we will be recalling the Chiefs Super Bowl winning season in 2020, looking at different aspects of Chiefs Kingdom, and thinking deeply about what that means for us as citizens of the Kingdom of God. Our theme this Sunday is "The journey is just as important as the destination." I hope you will join us!
