Greetings Louisburg UMC,
I hope that you are having a great week!
This has been a great week here at Louisburg UMC! Our middle school youth and M&M club spent 3 days serving at The Hub in Kansas City, Kansas. They learned about the ministries that feed, clothe, and care for those most in need. We served by loading food bags, unloading, and organizing food, and painting. On Monday and Tuesday nights this week, we had our last two town hall meetings. We learned and discovered our spiritual gifts, discussed the current ministries of the church, and dreamed about the future! We will be mailing a letter next week with the mid-year giving statements that will go over much of what was discussed in the meetings. On Wednesday night Jess and the band blessed all of us with the "Jesus Jams" band night! We have so many talented musicians. Thank you to all of you for such a great night together!
July will be a busy month as well. Our high school mission team leaves Monday to serve in Valley Nebraska. Vacation Bible School is coming up in a few weeks, and we get to welcome our new Associate Pastor, Ed Flener. On Sunday July 11, we will have a card and cake celebration after both services. We are celebrating the arrival of Ed and his wife Charlotte. I would invite you to bring 2 cards with you that Sunday. One welcoming Ed and Charlotte, and the other congratulating Denise Hollrah on her retirement.
Also, in the month of July, we are going to make a few changes to worship. 8:30 service will switch primarily to hymns, while the 10:30 service will still have our band and contemporary music. I hope you will join us this Sunday for worship as we hear more about the work of our middle school and M&M youth. The scripture and message will focus upon David and his fight with Goliath in 1 Samuel 17.
Happy 4th of July!
Pastor Brad
